WASINI ISLAND, a beautiful long and narrow island a couple of hundred metres out to sea, is accessible from the jetties of Shimoni where regular dhows take visitors to visit the island and the spectacular Kisite Marine National Park nearby. There are no vehicles or hotels on Wasini Island but it has a popular seafood restaurant and a few houses.
