Ngong Road runs all the way from Nairobi city out towards the Ngong Hills. The section around Hurlingham and Kilimani is busy with offices, shops and apartment blocks. Within the residential area of Ngong Road there are four major shopping centres: the Junction cinema and shopping complex, the Prestige shopping complex, the Yaya Centre and the older and somewhat run-down Adams Arcade. Behind Adams Arcade you will find a huge local second-hand clothing market called Mitumba, or Toy market, with excellent bargains for new and second-hand clothes. The Nairobi Club on Ngong Road has a public nine-hole golf course. Several international schools are located along Ngong Road including the Swedish and Dutch School and the French School. The Nairobi Hospital and Kenyatta National Hospital are in the vicinity.
