Hurlingham is a busy residential area compromising mostly apartment blocks and maisonettes that have replaced houses and bungalows of the past. Most everything can be found in Hurlingham in terms of gyms, health clubs, swimming pools, restaurants, nightclubs, casinos, cinemas and shopping centres like the popular Yaya Centre. The area is both popular with Kenyans and expatriates. It is located about 15 minutes drive from the city centre and 35 minutes drive from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Both buses and matatus have direct routes to and from Nairobi town.
