FUNZI ISLAND, located roughly 70 kms from Mombasa is reached by taking a boat from a jetty in Bodo, the village on the mainland. The island itself is covered in mangrove forests. The island is in close vicinity of the Pemba Channel which is known for its excellent deep sea fishing. A boat trip up the Ramisi river is a favourite local attraction.
